Announcing

(edited 10.13.08 - just removing the pics with all my contact info... ya know...)

...No... I'm not pregnant. LOL!
...No... I'm not all of a sudden, a walking encyclopedia.
...No... I'm not about to venture to the beautiful coast of Italy on a 6 days/7 nights cruise - although that MAY happen Springtime, 2010 - right daddy? :)

What I am announcing is...

I'm starting my own businesses. :) Yes, there's an "es" at the end. Plural, y'all. LOL!

The first has been in the making for years. I have always wanted to teach piano lessons out of my home, and for one reason or another, have neglected the calling - and put it on a back burner. Now I've gotten the ball rolling, and have got a whopping 3 students to keep me in check. :) It's going great, and I'm really and truly thrilled that it's finally gotten started - here's my little flyer I put up to start my advertising - and it got me one of the three! :) (The other two had inquired at one time or another at church, as there is rarely a meeting during which I'm not sitting at the piano, at some point. :) I wouldn't have it any other way, though! Truly.)

(picture of music flyer was here!) :)

Then, in addition, I've decided to follow in Aly's footsteps (while wearing her out with ooh-gobs of questions) and start a photography business. I am super excited about this - as I've grown to really love being behind the camera these last 5 years, forever snapping the three beautiful children I've been so bless to call my own. :) If you have a few minutes and would like to check out my website, it can be found here: www.shutterwhimsy.com. If you're wondering why I picked the name - I'll try to explain it... I knew I wanted to have a name that was a little... different. You can't be that surprised. LOL! So - along the way, as I've looked at many other photography websites, I came across one cool business name. Then, I knew I wanted to hopefully evoke a certain something in the name of my business similar to hers. So yeah, she was my inspiration. Rodney & I sat together one night at the computer typing out names in a photoshop creation, and he thought of "shutter" - and I thought of "whimsy" - at almost the same exact moment. And my most recent baby was born. I'll call it a "she." :)

So - as with the School of Music, I decided to print a little flyer to hang at Brady's preschool - just to get the word out. I am happy to report that quite a few pull tabs were torn off (that's a good thing!), and I have two sessions booked for late October and early November. You have no idea how exciting this is - not to mention very, very helpful to our less than overflowing bank account.

Also, my business card that should be delivered tomorrow. :)

Thanks for looking - and do spread the words with your Triangle area friends, if applicable. :) Off to fold clothes. They've been a little neglected lately! LOL!

Awesome, Leah! I'd take you up on both if I was in NC. Seriously! Good luck! I'm very excited for you, and maybe one of these days I'll do something cool like that, too. I don't know what, but I want to do something. I keep toying with the idea of a restaurant called "Charlie's Kansas Barbecue." Would you eat there? :)

I was wondering what you did with all your "spare" time since you don't like to read! Your businesses are two of my favorite things as well. You are so talented, I'm sure you'll be swamped soon!

Thanks guys!

Emily - you have to know I'd eat there, girl! Really with the names Charlie and Barbecue both in the title - you can not go wrong!

Ruth - Charlotte and Rolesville are about three hours apart. That is, of course, you are the proud owner of a jet. Then it's more like 30 minutes, I hear. LOL!

And to the rest of you - really, thank you so much! :)

Isn't it funny how when we start blogs with certain phrases or words we have to immediately disclaim pregnancy. lol

Best of luck with your businesses! I'm sure you'll do great!
